Mercedes-Benz has just showed its new system that detects driver’s fatigue as more than 26% of all accidents are results of driving tired. This system keeps track of the driver’s movements and the steering wheel’s movement to determine whether the driver is alert enough to drive. As soon as you get into the car it will start monitoring your movements and will continue until you stop and leave the car. If the driver is too tired, this new system will show warnings to keep the driver alert of the road conditions. Also this system works directly with the othe system Mercedes launched that reads and follows street signs.

Gordon Murray’s design company wants to build a lightweight supercar using the revolutionary chassis and body construction methods behind its radical T25 city car.  Murray, whose design credits include the McLaren F1, says that he wants his next supercar to be compact, lightweight and powered by a high-output, small-capacity engine, combining strong performance with low CO2 emissions.

The European Union has taken the first major steps to establishing a next-generation vehicle-to-vehicle communications system by passing a motion today to reserve an EU-wide frequency band for vehicle applications. With a targeted goal of reducing road accidents, today’s motion aims at enabling co-operative systems between car makers and is expected to lead to eventual roll-out of the first production examples early next decade.
