David Fearnley, a graduate from the Transportation Design Course at Northumbria University has designed the Lotus Eigne sport car with flexible seating arrangment. The sportscar has four in wheel electric engines that offers 4WD characteristics.  They are powered by batteries in the floor of the car.

Lotus has confirmed that it’s planning a convertible version of the new Evora just weeks after the sports car made its debut at the London motor show.  Marketing men at the British brand foresee an eight-year lifespan for the Evora, which is built alongside the Elise at Hethel in Norfolk.

Lotus Engineering, the world renowned automotive consultancy division of Lotus, has developed technologies to synthesis external sound on electric and hybrid vehicles to counteract the growing concern these ‘quiet’ vehicles pose to pedestrians and cyclists. A simulation of a real engine sound is used on the ‘Safe & Sound’ Hybrid technology demonstrator vehicle, making it instantly recognizable that the vehicle is in motion.

Update: For the duration of the British International Motor Show last week, Lotus had a Playstion3 demonstration stand situated featuring a special demo version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue with the new Lotus Evora. Guests were able to try out the new Evora on the London city circuit which takes in some of the city’s most popular landmarks including Piccadilly Circus, Shaftesbury Avenue, Charing Cross, the National Portrait Gallery and Trafalgar Square.  Although no official word yet, rumours put the Lotus Evora in the upcoming download able update for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Visitors to the British Motor Show will be able to test drive a virtual version of the Lotus Evora in Gran Turismo 5  The paint is barely dry on the new Lotus Evora, but it hasn’t stopped Lotus and Sony from collaborating on creating a version of the car for Gran Turismo 5, exclusively available to visitors at the British International Motor Show.
