Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has been selected to head up the newly formed Formula One teams’ alliance.At a meeting at the Italian team’s Maranello headquarters this week, representatives for F1’s ten teams agreed to establish the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA), to work in unison on commercial and regulatory conditions.

Today is a sad day in world of Motorsport as we lost 2 icons to speed:

R.I.P Craig Jones:

We are sad to inform that, as a result of a serious head injury sustained in an accident during yesterday’s FIM Supersport World Championship race at Brands Hatch, Craig Jones, aged twenty three from Northwich, Cheshire died today in the early hours of the morning in the Royal London Hospital. It appeared that Craig lost control and fell from his Team Parkalgar CBR600 Honda at Clark Curve and was immediately and unavoidably struck by a following rider.

Timo Glock will be rewarded with a new contract by Toyota in the wake of his second place finish in the Hungarian Grand Prix.  Glock bounced back from his accident in Germany to secure his and Toyota’s best finish of the season as he came home behind Heikki Kovalainen at the Hungaroring.

German tool design and construction company already involved in Formula One has this week bought the fixed assets of the defunct Super Aguri team.  Formtech GmbH said in a statement that it will use the former Honda-powered team’s Leafield base to open its first UK operation.
