The German firm will be one of the first tuners to get their hands on Mercedes-Benz’ all-new compact SUV that’s set to arrive in European dealerships this October with the U.S following in early 2009. Other than the teaser sketches, there’s no official information on what Lorinser is preparing for the GLK but we gather that apart from the full body kit and new alloy wheels, the tuning firm will also present a sport suspension set-up along with a series of upgrades for the SUV’s engine line up. German BMW tuning specialist, AC Schnitzer, from Aachen has a new widebody kit for the BMW X5. Called the Falcon, it gets its name from the front and rear wheel arch flairs which are lovingly referred to as broad “wings”.

Car buyers sued Ford Motor Co on Monday complaining that a limited edition of a modified Ford Mustang was not so limited after all.  The class action lawsuit on behalf of a New York man and other buyers of the 2007 Roush Stage 3 BlackJack vehicles claimed they paid a premium price of nearly $59,000 last year because Ford advertised that only 100 would be made.

Alpina’s diesel-powered D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe has arrived on UK shores. Based on the BMW 3-Series Coupe, the D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe uses a modified version of the 123d’s 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel producing 214 HP. While the coupe is more than capable with a top speed of 152mph (245 km/h) and a 0-62mph (100km/h) time of 6.9 secs, yet it manages to return 52.3 MPG UK (5.4lt/100km or 43.5 MPG US) with a manual gearbox and 50.4 MPG UK (5.6lt/100km 42.0 MPG US) with an automatic transmission in the EU combined cycle.
